3D Leaning Tower of Pisa

This past month Ravensburger sent us their 3D puzzle in the shape of the Leaning Tower of Pisa to review. We’ve built both Big Ben & their Globes and while the Globes will ever remain our favourites but now the light up Tower of Pisa has caused so much fun and amusement over the month that its up there with our favourites.

Despite the fact that its 3D it still has Ravensburger fabulous soft click technology. Now a couple of reviews have stated that the fun has gone because the pieces are labelled on the back...RUBBISH is all I can say! We drastically relied on these number but it did not take a second of fun out of the puzzle! Pisa is made entirely out of curved pieces rather than the hinged ones which were in the Big Ben model so is has more similarities with a traditional jigsaw like the globe puzzle than Big Ben & the Eiffel Tower.

The boys spent ages pulling out all the lower numbers then building the first layers or two of the tower and I loved how excited they were when they realised that the tower really did lean. We didn’t build the jigsaw in one sitting I have to say we built it over the course of a couple of weekends and evening where it sat in the corner and was looked over and bits added in and pulled out. They much preferred this to Big Ben which is great and once is was built we had to spend the evening with the lights off! Its now next to my youngest bed and he loves looking at it at night to go off too!

It RRPS at £19.99 on Amazon but rather than being built of foam the pieces are plastic making this puzzle a lot more long lasting than others on the market. I personally think this is worth the money and makes an excellent present for a whole range of ages! My sons are 7 & 10yrs old and even their almost 40yr old dad got involved and enjoyed building the tower!
