5 Gluten Free Breakfasts In Under Five Minutes

A fabulous guest post from Alistair Hardaker! I love the idea of quick and easy bacon sandwiches!

Many of us aren’t morning people. There’s nothing better than sleep and nothing worse than coping with the chaos of a weekday morning, especially when you have a family to herd.
As a parent, you probably have one hand free and twenty things to remember during your waking hours, so anything that can make breakfast less of a hassle can be a real life saver, especially if you’re looking for tasty gluten free options for your family.
Here are five gluten free breakfast options that you can make in five minutes, with minimal fuss, preparation, and washing up.

Banana & Peanut Butter Smoothie

Bananas, peanuts, and milk are all naturally gluten free (just make sure to check the packaging of the Peanut Butter for additives!) so you’re good to go with this super quick smoothie.
Throw chunks of banana, a few spoonfuls of peanut butter, and even some honey into a blender with a dash of milk and let it do the rest of the work.
30 seconds to a minute later, you’ve got a healthy and filling breakfast that can be easily divided out.
You can save even more time by putting the ingredients in the blender’s container, and leaving the whole thing in the fridge the night before.

Scrambled Eggs and Avocado

It’s not a sin to scramble eggs in the microwave; in fact, it’s quick and tastes exactly the same! Grab a microwavable bowl or even a coffee cup, add eggs and milk and whisk them up with a fork. Heat the cup on high for 45 seconds, take it out, and give the eggs a quick second whisk and heat for another 45 seconds.
Then cut around an avocado long ways, twist apart, and remove the stone. Fork out the avocado and lightly fold it into your scrambled egg. Add salt and pepper to taste. Or don’t! It’s up to you.
You can wrap this up in a gluten free tortilla if you need to get going with a breakfast burrito.

Fruit and Yogurt

This is a staple breakfast guaranteed to clock in at under five minutes. You can save even more time by picking fruits like grapes, berries, and easy-peel tangerines, all of which can be added without the need to start chopping.

Crispy, Streaky Bacon

Time to add some meat! Yes, you can cook bacon in under five minutes! Lay two sheets of paper towel down in the microwave and add four slices of streaky bacon, without overlapping. Then place two more sheets of paper towel on top. Heat in the microwave for just under five minutes. You’ll have super crispy bacon, which you can put between two slices of gluten free bread for an on-the-go breakfast.

Rice Pudding

This warm breakfast can replace your usual porridge, with all the same comfort and long lasting energy. Simply heat in a microwave and add to a bowl. Stay healthy by adding some fresh fruit or honey, or stir in a jam of your choice for added flavour and a nostalgic flashback to your school days.
