Summer Beauty Tips

Don’t you just love being outside in the summer? Down at the beach with your hair tumbling in to beach waves from the salty air. You’re walking barefoot up and down the sand. Your hair is styled by the spray for you and your feet never looked so good. The only problem is for many of us that’s an impossibility when you’re stuck in the city and can’t get down to the beach daily. So what can you do to be gorgeous all summer round? Well first up don’t be too perfect!

1, Summer Hair. In the heat and humidity it’s impossible to keep your hair sleek and your makeup in place from morning till late evening. Head to a beauty shop which sells good quality products and invest it hair care which works for you in the summer. If you really can't manage loose waves straighten as usual and finish your style with a good hair wax spray. It’ll keep the frizz at bay and won’t weigh down your hair or make it look greasy. Alternatively bring the beach to you. There's plenty of sea spray products on the market and spray them on damp hair and scrunch and go.

2, Make up. Waterproof if you can! Waterproof mascara will cope with both sea spray and the rigours of offices without air conditioning. Personally I skip foundation in summer and rely on a good BB cream. It gives a lighter effect and ensures your skin stays moisturised under the air con! Of course do make sure your make up does have SPF in it. The last thing you want is sun burn when you’re enjoying the rays on your lunch break.

3, Colour. On your lips and nails. Ditch the winter colours and relish in the seasons bright and cheerful colours. Think fresh and bright. Gel nail polish will last and in a bright orange or pink will see you through from office to evening dates.

4, Sunscreen. A must have really throughout the year but essential in the summer. Go for a brand you know and love that has a tint of self-tan in it. Then rather than coming in the office pale one day and brown the next you can slowly build up your tan throughout the week and achieve a far more natural effect!

5, DIY. Freeze your eye liner for quarter of an hour before popping it on. Not only does it help puffy eyes, it will reduce smudging and slide on easily. When its unbearably hot break into the ice cubes. Rubbing them on the face wards off wrinkles and acne!
