Annabel Karmel Baking Range

The boys have always enjoyed helping me out in the kitchen and most Saturday mornings can be found helping their daddy make pancakes or waffles for breakfast. The problem we’ve always had is that our kitchen equipment is adult size and adult weighted. Annabel Karmel has teamed up with toy company Casdon and using her expert knowledge have designed a range of fun and bright cookery tools perfect for little hands. The range stretches from traditional baking sets to decoration tools and also including a little more different with ranges like the Mini Pizza Set.

We were asked if we would like to review some of the range and we jumped at the chance. We were set the fabulous My Perfect Pastry Set, Mini Pizza Set & Mini Cupcake Set. The kids immediately wanted to rip open the packets and start baking and we had to create a breakfast pizza as they couldn’t wait till evening to use the pizza set. Each set comes with the necessary utensils and easy to follow recipes included in it.

The pastry set I think was my own favourite as you received so much stuff it kept the boys busy for ages! A plastic bowl, whisker, sandwich cake tin, plastic measuring jug and measuring spoons were included as were the shaped cutters, a roller and a spatula. We tweaked the included recipe to make a lemon seeded sponge cake and we used the mini cupcake set to use up the remainder of the mixture. The mini cupcake set surprised me the most as each cupcake holder was made out of silicone and is reusable. Just child sized. Fabulous and perfect for making melt in the mouth fairy cakes!

The quality of the products for the price really surprised me. The pizza making kit is just £4.50 from tesco direct! The mixing bowl has a non-slip rubber base and the utensils are made from silicone and long wearing plastic. The mini cupcake tray has silicone grips on the handles which makes it perfect for little hands. And as I previously mentioned the cupcake cases are silicone and so easy to clean and reusable. I have been really impressed which kit we’ve received and that they have lasted in the dishwasher and come pretty much ready to go. A full five out of five stars for us as we couldn’t think of a thing we would change other than please expand the range!
