Champagne Cocktails
It’s the end of May and finally we can say Hello to summer!
Hello to long summer evenings with friends, hello to strolls around beautiful
gardens and walks along the beach. Hello to weddings too! We have 5 this year
to go to!
One set are some very close friends who adored the drink we
had at a party this year. Gorgeous Champagne cocktails! What a perfect way to
say hello to summer. I do recommend Tescos
crates full of Champagne, you get a better vintage for your money. Champagne
is a of course a well-known sparkling wine from France. It has to come from the
north eastern region called Champagne. Anywhere else and it’s just another
bubbly wine. A 750ml bottle of Champagne has 49 million bubbles! And the very glamorous
Marilyn Monroe once took a bath in the famous bubbles. Over 350 bottles were
used!
Once you’ve got your main ingredients there is so much you
can do with it. Especially for summer, I adore the soft pinks and peachy colours
that tie in with weddings and summers and my two favourites are perfect for
this. Take a step away from the Bucks
Fizz and try instead a Peach Bellini! Invented in Venice in 1934 it became a
huge hit and was even considered acceptable at breakfast! I love this simple
take on it by Jo Pratt from Saturdays Kitchen.
Champagne
Peach Bellini
Ingredients
2 Ripe Peaches. Peeled & Halved (you can use tinned if
needs be)
Chilled Champagne
2 Chilled Champagne glasses.
Blender the peaches until a puree and smooth (I’d recommend
doing this beforehand and keeping in the fridge) Spoon half into chilled
champagne glasses and slowly top up with champagne. Stir as you pour. Serve
straight away.
If you fancy something with a little more of a twist then
why not try Martha Stewarts
Ingredients
3 Tablespoons Grenadine
3 Tablespoons Cointreau
2 Tablespoons Brandy
1 ¾ Cups Champagne
Raspberries, peaches or any other summer fruit.
Fill a small ice bucket about halfway with ice. Pour the
Grenadine, Cointreau and Brandy and Champagne over ice. Stir Gentle and pour
into some wide-mouthed stemmed glasses. Garnish with fruit of your choice.
These are just a couple of the gorgeous summery champagne cocktails
there are around. Of course you could just tuck into your Champagne with a
simple strawberry. Why not head out and try your own over the bank holiday?
