Teksta Newborn Review

You might recognise the name Teksta by now. They have lit up children’s eyes with their dinosaurs, puppy’s & kittens across the world. Now they have a new toy out and it’s even more accessible retailing at £19.99! It is aimed at age 3yrs+. It is their new Newborn range; puppys or kittens.

We were sent to review the Teksta Newborn Puppy. The boys loved it on sight although our real life puppy was slightly unsure! Fairly easy to get started once you’ve popped in three AAA batteries (not included so buy at the same time) and hunted out a mini screwdriver and fiddled the case back in. A simple on/off switch under its tummy and away you go.

Immediately the puppy springs in life with movements and noise and eyes which light up. Be warned though that while the noise isn’t loud you will end up switching it off when not played with as it barks to itself until you play!

It has a touch sensitive head which a light touch produces noise and if you hold it down it will bark you a song. The puppy’s tail wiggles and does it ears and it is responsive to voice and touch. Aside from this it has three programmes. You can make it walk, sit or beg. We have struggled with these and can make the pup walk without any problem and we can make it sing but we have struggled with the sitting and begging. Hopefully with time it will learn!

We have found that the ears come off a little too easily but they do pop back on and it might of course be Daisy just taking too much of an interest in the puppy! It looks incredibly cue and it’s a lovely gift at that price but it does fall apart a little easily and when on constantly makes noise which I would expect a little more from the brand. It hasn’t held the boys concentration either as much as the T-rex did and, as previously mentioned, I have seen on other sites we’ve struggled to train it and get it to beg. I would say 3 out of 5 stars as I know little girls would absolutely adore this regardless of the noise.
