House Browsing?
Does anyone else spend their free time surfing Rightmove
and property sites? My excuse is my parents are planning on moving down so
obviously I need to keep my pulse on what out there!
I always thought Christmas would be a quiet period in the
estate agent world but I've been keeping an eye on it and actually there seem to be a
fair few new homes popping up. I suppose putting yourself on now means that
people looking are more likely to see your place standing out then when you
have the summer rush and lots of houses to trawl through. Surely one of the
favourite things to do over the Christmas hols and cold early evenings is to
imagine yourself in your dream home? From
Estate agents in St Albans, to offices in Plymouth, Edinburgh, Cardiff the books are full of
quirky little properties which you normally overlook the rest of year. It’s
actually how we found our dream home! I
had overlooked it as an odd bungalow (I wanted a cottage!) and then over Christmas
there it still was and I noticed how large and roomy it was and the size of the
garden. All aspects I’d overlooked that summer when the first picture didn’t grab
me!
Of course my parents budget is a lot more fun for me to
look at and they don’t have to worry about school areas! But my favourite house
surfing? Ha when I’ve bought a lottery ticket! There are multimillion pound
houses down in Cornwall with sea views that I have mentally spoken for! Tell me
I’m not the only one who house surfs despite not planning on moving?!
I just bought my first home in August so went a whole 5 months or so without looking on rightmove, but today cracked just to see what was going on in the area (and to see whether I got a good deal on my house... I did!)
