Baby Kale Chips #nomnom
Recently we were sent some lovely vouchers to try out
Florettes new baby Kale. I’m rather excited that superfood has made it to
mainstream supermarkets. You used to only be able to get it in the odd organic
delivery boxes or boutique farm shops. If you’ve tried kale before and had the
grown up adult leaves you’ll be in for a fabulous surprise.
The baby kale is an
awful lot nicer with do need for having to boil down those tough rubbery parts you
find on the adult leaves and with a lighter taste. With only 33 calories in a
whole cup it actually contains more iron than beef! Pretty amazing huh? Full of
antioxidants, magnesium and potassium & omega-3 it also helps lower your
blood cholesterol. But how to cook it? You can take a look here at Florettes baby kale recipes, I rather like the look of that Brushetta or alternatively why not
make it in to a tasty snack?

Ingredients
1 Packet of Florette Baby Kale
A little olive oil
A pinch of sea salt
Method
Pre heat oven to 170c .Wash the kale thoroughly even if the packet
already says washed! Dry them leaves off and tip the olive oil and salt over
the leaves and toss about.
Place the leaves on a baking sheet. Then pop in the overn for about
5-8 minutes until crisp. If they aren’t crisp yet pop them back in for another
2-3 mins. Keep an eye on them as they can burn! My did hence why no photos of my attempts just yet (they're still yummy though)
Once they’re out why not add seasoning to them? Our favourites?
Lime – Mix up some lime juice with and a small pinch of
chilli pepper and sprinkly over.
Cheese – grate some parmesan over the top just as they come
out.
You can of course also add some pepper, sugar (reminds me a
little of crispy seaweed) sesame seeds. In fact why not just try experimenting
with what you have at home?
