Teksta T-Rex Review
One of the toys that will be topping the charts for toys
this Christmas will no doubt be the Teksta T-Rex. With so many young children
being dinosaur obsessed and we wont even start about the new Jurassic Park this
makes an ideal toy. Like his cousins the Teksta Puppy & Kitty he is an
amazing electronic pet for you and your child to train. Debenhams very kindly sent us one to review which is currently being trained in the kitchen while I write!
T-Rex responds to your voice and now will also respond to
hand gestures! He responds and reacts to actions, lights and sounds and will
also interact with its own app on your android or apple device. He’s incredibly
clever and will react with you by roaring or crying and whining. His eye
patterns also will change depending on he’s feeling as his technology allows
him to respond and understand if he is being petted, talked to or played with.
He pretty much acts like a well-mannered if undertrained (at least at the
start) dinosaur, he roars and waves his head as you approach him. The boys
adored making him run around and roar and I can see this present being a huge
hit with both boys& girls as the play value will last long after Christmas!
Needless to say this clever and very stylish dinosaur
provides hours of fun. Mainly I think because there is so much you can do with
him. Or at least we found there always seemed to be something new to teach or
try out and discover. He has two modes on his head so you can have him in a conversation
mode where he responds and talks back to you, well roars back at you! Though be
warned in this mode he won’t go walking about. It’s a great mode if you want to
play with him on the table away from say inquisitive puppys! He also has a
singing and dancing mode which lets you select a song and dance for him. And of
course like any good household pet he has tricks!
Each T-Rex comes with his own bone. Place the bone in T-rex’s
mouth (don’t worry he won’t bite!) Pop it in and head the beep sound at which
T-Rex will try and chop the bone in half! After a good chew he bends over and
throws it out his mouth! We haven’t tried him yet with the app but with the app
included he offers over 100 interactive play features. Pretty good for a toy of
this price! He’s aimed at the over 5’s but my 4yr old has spent hours playing
with him and trying to teach him to respond. It’s a perfect present I think to
give to more than one child as he isn’t tuned to obey just one voice. In fact I
can have a very good conversation with him myself!
You can buy this rather fabulous T-Rex
from Debenhams (who have 20% off at the moment) for £48 RRP £60
