Lite Brix - Review

We were sent LiteBrix Slayer Jet vs Capt Bolts Bunker recently for the boys to review. Initially when I first saw it I was slightly sceptical. It looks remarkable like Lego without being it and having had sets in the past from a different manufacturer I expected the boys to struggle and for it not to hold well together. Boy did I have the wrong idea! This kit has surprised me from the start.

Retailing at £20 And aimed at ages 6 and above I expected there to be two little lights which light up and we were amazed that pretty much the whole ship has lights on! Even the figures light up. While you require 3AAA batteries for the ship which aren’t included the little LR41’s for the figures are. The kit took about half an hour to build and it comes supplied with easy to follow step by step instructions and the boys were captivated through the building and only very rarely needed help.

The bricks are quite hard and long lasting and while they fit nicely together they can be a little tricky especially for slightly smaller hands (my 8yr old had no trouble) It captured both the imagination of my youngest and eldest as good battled out with evil and the sets have been incorporated in other play sets and games ever since.  It’s amazing just how many different star war and battle ship games and scenes you can create!

I’m incredibly impressed with the kit and think that you’re getting a pretty good bargain for your money in terms of play value and time. I’m currently eyeing up other lite up kits for Christmas.  A good 9 out of 10 stars and a perfect little gift to have for some peace on any Saturday morning!
