Review of Plush Tents & Win a stay

If you go down to the woods today be sure of a big surprise, because just hidden by a beautiful bluebell woods is a heavenly field scattered with bell tents and yurts and glimpsing through the blossom a rather gorgeous hot tub! In fact it’s Plush Tents, perhaps the last word in luxury camping. Beautiful genuine Mongolian yurt tents are scattered around the site and down its windy little paths and the odd elegant bell tent is found too.

It was in one of these stunning and delightful yurts we stayed to review them just before Easter.  Decorated with a fresh deep blue on white pattern they have a solid wooden door you can lock. Inside is a magical tent a huge step away from sleeping bags on mats all squashed together. A double bed lies to  the side under the silk canopy (and chandelier) and in front of you for extra warmth lies an antique  wood burning stove, table and chairs and an enticing wicker hamper filled of fresh ground coffee (instant would ruin the atmosphere) and tea making facilities. If you’re bringing your children along too, squashy and cosy mattresses lay on the floor ready for when they collapse from their nonstop adventures.

Our boys were enchanted from the wonderful greeting we received by the friendly on site staff (Mac – a wonderful, fun & friendly guy) to the second we stepped inside our yurt. As children do they explored it thoroughly within minutes and shot straight outside to try out the wooden chairs then made a mad dash to the hammock circle and outdoor areas. Outside each yurt and tent are handmade tables and benches which are perfect for sipping your coffee at in the morning while you watch the sun rise (we have early risers!)

The outdoor area is set away from the tents (allows a good night away from any other guests staying up late) and incorporates a mess tent for cooking up your dinner, an eating area if you’re feeling sociable, a wonderful fire pit which is lit every evening and the hammock circle which I could have slept in! We all watched the sun going down with drinks in our hands (lemonade for the boys of course) and swung gentle while the fire was started.  The boys were allowed (under strict supervision) to join in the building of the fire and had an incredible time. There’s something about camping which allows you to quickly become friends with complete strangers and the boys are dab hands at this. They hit it off with the other children on site and played and ran round the fields while we stayed by the fire and watched them (completely safe they can run and play away from their parents if they wish while we can see them and they’re still within hearing!)
We didn’t brave the hot tub but oh I wish we did! It’s an 8-12 wood fired hot tub which I suspect if I sank into I would have to be dragged screaming out of it. In the morning it was still beautifully warm and would be a perfect way to start the day!

We had an enchanted evening and an incredibly comfortable sleep. The double bed was amazingly comfortable (I’m a fussy sleeper) and the boys were asleep snuggled up before their heads hit their pillows! Absolutely wonderful and worth the price! Toilets – well you can choose between the eco-friendly ones or the proper good old fashioned ones. There’s a shower too with a seemingly nonstop supply of hot water. Even one night away here relaxed us all and at the end of the visit we had to forcibly bundle the boys in the car while they cried because they didn’t want to leave! Just ask the onsite staff if you want to leave and explore the area as they came up with some perfect suggestions to match the days weather and most importantly – HURRY UP AND BOOK!
However why not enter the below competition yourself and become like me a complete convert to the world of glamping!
