Chill Factor Squeeze Slushy Cup Review

Since last year when they first came on the market my two have been asking for the Chill Factor Squeeze Cup Slushy Maker. I have to say I was slightly dubious about it £13 for a gimmick seemed a little high to me. So when I was asked if I’d like one to review I gave in and shouted a loud yes!

 If you haven’t seen them yet, chill factor squeeze slushy allows you to make your own slushies in a matter of seconds, no mess! The instructions are fairly simple, you put the plastic sock in the freezer, wait to freeze, then pour your favourite chilled drink in the cup and squeeze. In seconds it’s a slushy and you have a matching lid and straw so you can then take your slushy out and about with you. 

What did we think? Well the boys immediately loved it and there was fighting over the fact we only had one and both wanted to squeeze, however we tipped it out into two glasses and they were quite happy then! They loved the squeezing and had a great time doing this but I did worry about how long the cup will last. You do need to check it regularly to check there are no smalls holes or tears and you must remember to hand wash it not throw it in the dishwasher! Ours has been used pretty heavily this week and no tears so far but I honestly wonder if it will last the whole summer…The instructions were easy enough for even the boys to follow and they can make their own without any help. It does encourage them to have a bit more fruit juice than they might otherwise drink and I did in the spirit of research try putting in a peach Bellini to see if it works too! It did result it a lovely refreshing drink while watching the sun set by the bbq!

Overall the boys loved them as have their friends and I loved my drinks in them when it’s been a bit warm. I imagine it’ll be used nonstop in summer and I must admit its great fun. I would just like it to be a little bit cheaper BUT if it does stand up to a summer’s constant use then I would say it’s worth the price! And I think I might beat the boys to trying their ice cream maker!!!
