Diverted by floods!

We didnt brave driving through!
This weekend we ventured out in the wind and rain to take Daisy out for a walk. We were intending to go to a local pond but the amount of rain we've been having meant FLOODS! So instead we went off to discover instead what felt (and looked like a moor) The boys pretended to be the Famous Five with Daisy masquerading as Timmy the dog and we hunted out villans hiding in the Heather. I dont know if you can tell from the photos but all the place looks windswept (54mph gusts!) and slightly forsaken it was beautiful! Spring is just starting hear and I'm certain that when you're in the country you notice a different in the surroundings every month. The heather has started in sheltered spots to colour and through the grey and black there are flashes of warmth, reds & purples.

Despite the weather the boys had an amazing time (wrapped up sensibly they dont notice the elements) although they decided that the Famous Five must have been fairly uncomfortable sleeping on bracken & heather!

  1. As you say, wearing waterproofs and wellies are essential for this type of weather to ensure the children have fun outdoors. Thanks for linking up and sharing your adventure with Country Kids.
