12 Favourite Things of Christmas

"One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room
on Christmas Day" Andy Rooney

I would love to be Centre Parcs blogger and this month they are asking for our 12 favourites things of Christmas. Hmm just to knock it down to twelve is hard. So after much thought heres my 12…..

C - Childrens faces. Does anything in the world beat the look of sheer delight on their faces as they rush to their advent calendar and start the count down?
E – Egg nog and all Christmassy drinks. I adore it! Egg nog & Hot Chocolate would last me all winter I think. I might just use Christmas as an excuse to drink more of them!
N - Nativity plays – Who doesn’t?
T - Turkey and sprouts -  I know, I’m odd but I do love them both! And it’s the only time of year my husband will allow them in the house.
E – Excitement – It might send the kids, the dog, the parents & even the grandma manic but its such a lovely atmosphere
R – Room decorations from trees to wreaths. Don’t the rooms just look stunning decorated up? And so plain afterwards!

P – Parents – spending time with the whole family. I love my family and my parents and grandma and I can spend the whole time just enjoying them.
A – Adventures. Time off for two weeks to indulge in the boys and not worry about being anywhere on time. We can investigate the woods, the garden and streams locally without it being packed!
R – Roasting Chestnuts. I love wondering the shops with the cold nipping at me and a hot packet of chesnuts in my hand! Perfect!
C - Christmas tree hangings. Mostly created by the boys which gives us a wonderful 7 years of memories whenever we put it up including as well decoration’s from my husband’s child hood and mine.
S - Songs/carols. I start after the 11th November. Carols & Christmas songs are almost played 24/7

And of course catching up with YOU. Time to spend with friends and familys! No pressures. It’s a wonderful time of the year!

This is my entry to the Center Parcs and Tots 100 December challenge. If I’m chosen, I would like to visit Longleat Village’

  1. Great idea to use those initials - I was trying to think of some but gave up when I got to 'Christmassy' and couldn't get to 12 letters!!! Good luck with this x
