Photowall Framed Print Review

We are currently in the processing of setting up an area in the house solely for home schooling and we’ve been looking for a while into maps and globes but we’ve struggled to find a style we all love. We wanted something that edged away from the primary school colours but still had a lot of details.

Photowall offered to help me out either with a mural wallpaper or as a print. And I have to say that a huge huge part of me was incredibly tempted to go for the mural across the room of the world! The thought of matching them up or ensuring it fitted wouldn’t have been a problem as photowall have an amazing site which allows you to type in your wall measurements and you can choose a selection of the mural that you want to fit where you want. Its rather fabulous actually. However we decided in the end against only down the fact that we are about to extend and we knew the wall would get damaged by builders. In the end we decided to go for a framed print and I just loved the range of images you could use. There was 100’s of maps and it was great fun discovery a wide range of what we were after – youngest is very fussy!

We went for an executive vintage framed print of a map rather than canvas – you can choose all between wallpapers, prints or canvas. Placing the order after choosing the image was incredibly simple. I choose the image we all liked then had an option of frames and borders and dimensions. The borders were simple – with or without but the frame options are great. Black, white or natural.

The shipping. Most places that you order from then charge a huge part of the order as shipping but I loved that with Photowall delivery around Europe in fact was free with DHL! And it’s a quick delivery too. I ordered on a Monday and by Wednesday afternoon the map was up in pride of place on our walls! The delivery was very well wrapped up with extra support on the edges and across the front of the frame.

As you can see it’s a beautiful map and the only issue I have is that the front is so polished and shiny I cant get a decent photo! The detail is amazing and every word regardless of how small is clear and easily readable. My eldest has been using it for his school work and my husband has been using it as a backdrop for his meetings as it makes pointing out where certain countries are in relation to others much easier!

Photowall would make a superb present any time of the year and I cant wait till the building work is finished and I can indulge in some of the murals!

  1. I love the map. Thanks for this review Lucinda, having just redecorated the 'school room', I was so tempted by a full, world map mural. I ended up just using a 'library book' themed wallpaper because I couldn't really find what I'd imagined in my head, if that makes sense... I could also imagine how distracted one of my students would be if there was a whole wall to explore!! Anyway, I've investigated the 'Photowall' website, and will certainly bookmark it for future reference, thank you! :)
