HINT Board Game

This month for the Asmodee Bloggers Board game club we’ve been playing HINT. It’s a real party game and quite frankly we can’t wait till we’re allowed friends round to play this with! We are going to see if we can do this on our online party night! Stay tuned for that. HINT is a fabulous game which is all about hinting to your team members while they try and guess.

However it’s not so straightforward as that. This is a guessing game where the hinting takes the form of drawing, humming, talking and miming about the words you want them to get. The better you are at this the faster you can move round the game board. Just be warned! On each card is a forbidden word! Your team can end up losing a point if they shout out this word!

The box is the game board and storage in one. It comes with a wheel to spin although this is removeable, two counters, 600 different topic cards, a wipeable drawing board, felt pen, cloth, hourglass and instructions. Everything sits within the box and you’re ready to play. Pop your counters at the starting point on the edge of the box and have the hourglass and drawing board ready!

The game is aimed at the older group with the suggestion being 15years or above. However with two under 15’s we easily worked around this. We just left out the cards they didn’t know although they did want to attempt to them.

As mentioned the cards all have a topic and a how you can hint! It could be Draw, Hum, Talk or Mime. Pick a card from the selection on the wheel and start the game. You have 90 seconds to guess as many of the words on the card without guessing the forbidden word. You win a point for every correct word but the forbidden words means a loss of two points! If there are objects still left at the end of 90seconds then the other team have a chance to guess these. They only get one guess and will earn a point if its correct but stand to lose two if they guess wrong! If they can guess the forbidden object though they stand to win two points! At the end of the game the wheel is spun, and a new card placed in where the arrow faces.

This is an incredibly fun game and we really enjoyed it. Its last quite a long time but even though aimed at older people to play the kids stayed tuned in and amused for a good hour while we played. Really rather perfect for these long evenings! It was fabulous to see what the kids did know and just how good they were at certain things! And how awful my humming is!!!

It RRPS at £30.00 but can be found slightly cheaper online. You definitely get your money’s worth playing this!
