The Perfect Stocking Filler with Rubiks

One of the trickiest things with my boys is to find little gifts to put in their stockings which wont just get thrown away. And with a 3rd of parents all stating the Rubiks makes a perfect stocking filler I have to agree! The survey by 2000 people also included chocolate as a top stocking solutions but I prefer something that last a lot longer.

The Rubiks cube is a huge classic and who out of us didn’t grow up from the 80s with one in the home? But now Rubiks have gone one better and have a wider variety of Rubik styles to choose from! In their cube range is the good old classic 3 x 3 which I have spent many hours on playing and never getting it sorted! But now they also have the 2 x 2! This is something that I love as although there is still millions of combinations it’s a little easier. Its also been a great fiddly toy for my youngest during tutoring. Its been amazing as I thought he would switch off listening as he played with it, but the tutor agrees that if anything its allowed him to concentrate more on whats he’s hearing! Fabulous! This retails at £8.49 and can be found in all good toy shops and online. There is also the Rubiks Edge, this is my husbands favourite – it in his bag for work which why no photos! It has a single layer 3 x 1 but don’t be deceived in thinking this is easy! It has corner pieces which can change. It retails at £9.99 and can be found at all good toy shops.

Rubiks Cage.

The eldest adores this one! It’s a two-player game and I guess the best way to describe this is like a 3d version of connect! It’s a superb strategy game and its incredibly absorbing. Its provided tons of friends and came out of his bag when we met up with friends before fireworks! We almost missed the fireworks as were all so involved in trying to win! PS be warned the cage can be flipped and turned! The mind boggles quite frankly while it works out where to place the next cube to win or defeat your opponent. It can be played by 2, 3 or 4 players and retails at £19.99

Rubiks Orbit

Now this is a firm favourite and I’d say the top one for all of us! The youngest has managed to complete it but is the only one. Instead of a cube the Rubiks is a sphere, the idea to get on the same colours in rings. This is by far the best fiddle toy and was out of the package before photos could be taken and it has stayed close by since. Its  superb for lazing around with and just fiddling while you watch tv or have 2 minutes! Can highly highly recommend this! This retails at £14.99 though I have seen it on offer in some toy shops.

Rubiks Match

I freely admit we all struggled with this. In all fairness the boys tried to play without reading the instructions which are somewhat essential! There are 3 levels of difficulukty to this card game. And the aim is to be the player to make your card match the centre card. The teen cousins absolutely loved this game!

The Rubiks puzzles are superb and its easy to see why they have been such a great hit for so many years! If you get stuck though on these its worth heading over to https://www.rubiks.com/en-uk/ for some help! I love that these toys have no batteries and that they last! I still have mine from over 30 years ago and the latest ones seem even higher quality. The twist is smoothier and the tiles seem a little tougher – no chance of peeling these off to make a perfect cube! Rubiks is a huge hit with any age range right up to 100s so its easy to see why they are so popular! Head over to John Adams for more information about stockists near you!
