Sweets Galore
With the start of a new term brewing also means the start of
partys, discos & of course in just weeks Halloween & Christmas. At this
time of year therefore I start to get ready where I can be it with the PTA or
the kids birthday or as I said – Christmas. With all these one of the best
products or gifts I can find lays in the rather magical world of sweets.
For an incredibly profit at any PTA event I can highly
recommend making up sweets cones! Not only do they allow a quick profit, but it
also saves on having to have someone pop on the gloves and fill up each little
bag while the kids umm and ahh. Premade cones of 50ps or £1s can easily be sold
at discos, after school on Fridays, parties and film nights and if bought as wholesale sweets
can make up a lovely profit to treat your school with.
Of course, the sweet
cones are a great alternative to party bags & one which many parents are
preferring. No longer do you need to search out bits and bobs which will be
used once and then broken or lost. Instead a cone filled and if you feel like
one which can be themed to the event are become more and more the desired
treat. As a side note I went to a wedding last month and the children’s table
each had a gorgeous themed cone ready to be opened when the speeches started –
pure silence!
As to Halloween – little bags of horror sweets such as milk
teeth or liquorice wands are dived into with delight! They also look rather
spectacular on top of cupcakes and spilling out the middle of a surprise cake. It’s
amazing how much fun you can have with a handful of these.
Christmas-my favourite! Many of our family members ask each
year only for small presents which are consumable or for something a little
fun. I love spending the winter evenings crafting and one of my delights is
making up presents for our friends. Bulk buy some sweets and you can get
started making the most fabulous of presents. Such a sweet tree. It takes 30
seconds to check out these awesome gifts on Pinterest and delight in the
different styles. Just imagine people faces when you give them a tree made from
Haribo, flying saucers or their favourite chocolate.
They are so easy to make too:
Push a wooden spoon into a florist ball. Fill a pretty flower
pot with plaster of paris and as it starts to set hold the other end of the
spoon to set. Once it has set pop some floristry wire around your sweets or if
wrapped using a hot glue gun and start decorating your tree! Once finished pop
some in the base to hide the plaster of paris. Decorate with ribbons and tailor
to each recipient! Check out the pinterest board for more inspiration.
