Boom Blast Stix

As you know we just adore family games and we love Boom Blast Stix. We were sent it to review and the kids loved it. The game comes in a container with the lid becoming your play surface. The aim of the game is to stack up the interlocking springs as many as you can before they go off and explode. Its great fun and very addictive! The springs all feel slightly different and as each person can select any one spring on each move to lock on its incredibly unpredictable. The boys loved this and have gone back repeatedly to play this.

As to adults it’s a fabulous game for them to play as well! A great game to bring out after dinner while you’re still chatting its surprising just how competitive this game can get to play! Due to the difference in each spring there is a little bit of skill needed to win the game which makes for a fun and somewhat competitive evening!

The boys didn’t get very piling up the stix but it hasn’t stopped them enjoying the game. The adults managed a much better pile but they were very much competitive. There are 32 springs in the game and the largest we have as a family manage to pile up is 26! Do be warned though when the stix go boom, they go boom! EVERYWHERE!!! We have had to hunt around under tables to collect them all up but it does add some great suspense to the game as no one wants to get too close!

Overall the game is quite good fun and the adults adored it! The children have played it a lot but are a little wary of just much it explodes as they play and it did scare some younger friends. I would aim for over 8s but it will make the perfect game to produce after a long lazy Christmas meal!
