Hungry Hippos - No tech evening!

When I was a child I always wanted to give one particular game ago and never got the chance…until now!

Hungry Hippos – The fabulous Hasbro game is still going strong. The Entertainer Toy Shop asked if we would like to stay in one evening and give up technology and have a board game party. Of course, we had to say yes and we choose Hungry Hippos as our board game of choice.

The boys were rather excited when the box arrived, not just for the game but for the fabulous decorations we were sent with the box. They insisted from lunch time in helping us prepare for the party for the evening. In fact, with this they didn’t actually touch technology the whole day!

Hungry Hippos is a fab family game and is for any age from 4yrs up! From 2 to 4 players. It’s a pretty straight forward game to play and each game takes about 30 seconds to play. The aim of the game is to swallow as many marbles as possible. There was one yellow marble and who ever swallowed that was our winner. I love the fact that the game is so simple to play. Anyone can sit down with it and immediately can play.

The game is very quick to play and as I said anyone can sit down and have a quick game. Perhaps because of this the novelty factor of playing does wear off quite quickly and they aren’t likely to play for much more than half an hour at a time. That said I think because it is so simple they often play the game. It’s a great war for the boys to take up five minutes with some quick action fun!
