Bellz Magnetic Game
My two rather love board games and when we were sent Bellz to
review and play I was rather surprised. It’s a very deceptive game! It looks
ridiculously easy to play….its a deception!
The main idea behind Bellz is very simple. Using a magnetic
wand just pick up your colour bells. The first to collect all their colours
wins. The set which RRPs £17 (do check around tho – our local toy shop had it
at £10!) and comes with a travel pouch which is also the “arena”, 40 bells in
four different colours and sizes and a magic magnetic wand.
The magnet wand is
super powerful and has two different ends. One if super strong and the other
end is weaker and smaller. Choose your end before your go starts as you can’t
change midway! Because the magnetic is so powerful the game becomes a
challenge! Even with the smaller weaker end it is horribly easy to pick up some
one else’s colour!
The game is aimed at age 6yrs+ and for 2-4 players. My
youngest at 6 loved it and my eldest at 9 played for ages on his own too! He
loved it and has tried out a range of techniques to try and see which is the
best. Which was great till his younger brother came in and swept up one colour
almost on his first go! I was surprised by how long they played the game for.
We originally took the game up in the car to my parents –
about an hour away – to judge how long they would play the game for and it was
played on and off the whole way up. They have loved the game and while it sat
on the side for a while after it was sent as soon as it was opened it has been
picked up and played with at least once a day, often taken out in the car for a
quick round between places!
A wonderful game which will be taken away a lot over summer
and to camps. Very entertaining and suits all age groups from children through
to adults with a glass or two!
