Spoon Guru - Food Allergy & Intolerance Help App Review
As you might know if you’re a regular reader on the blog we
have food allergies and intolerances in this family which of course makes it
very hard to buy products from the supermarkets and can take some time
searching for new recipes.
Spoon Guru offered me a chance to review the app. Spoon Guru
allows you to select the allergens that you want to avoid then when you scan
the bar code it quickly tells you if the food is a yes or no perfect. Perfect
for such things as coeliac disease when it isn’t clear if a product actually
has gluten in (its not just in wheat!)
Spoon Guru is a free app for all of us foodies with dietary
requirements. Not only does it help us choose new food with out pouring over
every label but it also has a fabulous section to hunt out recipes. The recipe
is perfect for all eaters as it shows all the marco info – carbs, fat, protein
and the micros – vitmains & minerals on each recipe.
The co founder of Spoom Guru points out that each and every
one of is unique and there fore so are our allergys and dietary preferences
“Someone with an g allergy may also be a vegetarian who prefers a low-sugar
diet. No matter how complex the need Spoon Guru is designed to find food that’s
just right for that person” In fact they care so much they even have their our
registered Nutrionist – Alexis Poole.
As I said, its incredibly easy to use. Simply download the
Spoon Guru app for free from iTunes.
Food Intolerance Categories: Egg Free, Celery, Fish,
Shellfish, Gluten, Milk, Nuts, Lupin, Pulses, Beans & Peas, Seeds, Sesame,
Soya & Sulphites
Lacto-Vegetarian, Low
Carb, Low Sugar, Organic, Ovo-Vegetarian, Paleo, Pescatarian, Vegan,
Vegetarian.
Simple just two steps! The app is now tailored to your
personal dietary requirements and head over to the be inspired tab and there
will all the recipes you can eat!
Then the scanner can be used whether you’re at the shops or
at home. In fact this little gadget helped me discover a drink I thought was
safe actually had gluten in and this is what has been upsetting my tummy for
weeks!
I love this app, there are a couple which do the same thing
which you have to pay for and aren’t as detailed! The bar scanner to me is a
huge lifesaver, it makes shopping a little more fun and easier. Not something I
thought I’d ever say.
