ChillFactor Ice Cream Magic Tray
With the start of the summer holidays the boys were very
excited for The ChillFactor Ice Cream Magic Tray to arrive in the post. The
Chill Factor from Character toys of course is well known for the slushy maker
cups but now your children can make their own ice cream and in minutes too!
The instructions are on a sheet of paper included in the
set and I will say you might struggle to read them! They are very very small!!
The tray needs to filled with a saline solution first and frozen for 4-6 hours
before you can start. We left ours in the freezer overnight till we were ready.
The ice cream is made up from normal cream and they advise
adding a syrup if you want for flavour. I’m not a huge fan of syrups to we added
in chopped up flakes instead! The boys chopped up some bananas and dried fruit
while they waited the couple of minues for the cream to set. It’s a little
fiddly as the cream mixture (prechilled before pouring on the prefrozen tray)
has to be poured in a zig zag on the tray to make sure it’s even. The boys needless
to stay tried this once then counted be bothered the second time. It still
worked though. Use the spatula to mix up the cream mixture ready for eating.
The longer you leave the mixture on the ChillFactor Magic Ice Cream Tray the
thicker the ice cream becomes. I have to say we can highly recommend choc flake
ice cream! We did try with fruit but couldn’t get the cream to set so chocolate
it will have to be.
The boys had great fun playing with this but there was no
way that we could make a large enough amount for them both to have a scoop as
it were. They did enjoy it though and enjoyed the mixing up and ate a huge
amount of fruit in the process! I did find it fiddly though and personally do
prefer ChillFactors cups instead. The
ChillFactor Ice Cream Magic Tray is suitable for children aged 3+ and available
from Character toys priced £19.99
