Room Makeover - #RiseToTheChallenge
A while ago I was offered the chance to do up a room of a
relation or elderly person I knew. Originally I had planned to spruce up my
grandmas lounge for a surprise but the surprise leaked and my grandma decided
that it would be better to do someone more in need. I asked around our village
and we have an lovely older couple who help out throughout the village, in
schools, scouts and anywhere anyone needs a helping hand. We knew that had been
saving up hard to do up their lounge and thought this might be a lovely way to
give back.
I took inspiration from a cushion I knew was very much
loved in the lounge and chose the colours of the room around this and the
colours in their much loved garden.
Here are some of the befores.
And the afters….
We had a lovely budget to work with but they had such
wonderful neutral walls we didn’t feel the need to splash out on paint. As you
can see the gorgeous touches of pink now added in the neutral room really bring
the room together and is so much cosier. We were lucky to find thermal lined
curtains in the sale and I love that this will help reduce their heating bill
later in the year.
The couple couldn’t believe what we had done for them and
adored it from the moment they walked through! Even a fortnight on I still get
phone calls where they have spotted something different or just to let me know
how much more comfortable they are and how much they love their home now. The
company who offered me the budget to be able to do this is a fabulous riser
recliner company, called Fenetic Wellbeing. A lovely twist to this story is that couple in question
have been saving up for a riser chair to help hip and back problems and this
will allow them to get it more quickly and add a little more comfort and luxury
to their life after helping out so many people!
Ps they currently have 5% off everything in store with the
code FENETIC5
