Child CPR. Do you know what to do?!
When my eldest was born he was whisked
in with illness to ICU for the next two weeks. When he finally came out we were
recommended by the great midwives and nurses to take part in a child first aid
course. The top one they recommended was St Johns. We both took part in one and
while it partly scared me with the reality of things which could happen it also
was a huge reassurance that were the worse to happen we’d at least have the
right idea what to do.
Followed up by most recently a friend
posting to please please watch the St Johns videos and learn CPR as her son had
fallen in a pub and she had had no idea what to do and was incredibly lucky a
doctor also happened to be there. That one of our children weren’t breathing is
one our hugest fear as parents so why not gain a little confidence in yourself
and know what to do in those crucial moments? There’s no guarantee that there
will be someone around to help you!
Head over to the St
Johns page here and watch the videos and learn a little more! Perhaps even
sign up for a class! I can highly recommend them.
Just as a follow on from this. Both my children sung along with this and are aware of what to do if not how. Its never to early or late to find out!
