National Wallpaper Week: Glamorous

Graham & Brown in celebration of National Wallpaper Week launched a challenge to many bloggers to see if they could capture a different theme each day. We’ve had Date Night, a twist on traditional romance, through to Calm & Inspired and most recently Nostalgic & Funky. Where would you place your wall designs within this? We love Graham & Brown having used in the past. So we jumped at the chance to experiment in one of our rooms.

So what is my day? Well I choose today as it Glamorous. The bedroom to me is the place that should shout glamour and luxury. It’s the one room in the house I can (husband doesn’t have a choice mind, he has his study) call mine. I choose from Graham & Brown the most gorgeous soft Buttermilk called Ever After which adds a sheen to the walls that’s just shouts LUXURY. With this in mind of course I had to also tweak the rest of the room around to ensure the whole room scream GLAMOUR.

I adore decorating. I think I would decorate with the seasons if my husband allowed me. I find that even making smallest changes can alter a room dramatically. Changing the walls well that can alter a room incredibly. You can make a room calming, soothing, thoughtful, aggressive, wakening, glamorous or even funky just by altering the walls. Whether you favour neutrals with a dramatic feature wall or soft pastels to add warmth to a room you’re also stating your claim and style in that room. Once you’ve chosen your colour of course you can then teak you design even more by patterns. Make a large room cosy with huge prints; make a narrow room wider with horizontal stripes.

I think of my walls like I do my wardrobe. After all it’s almost the same technique! What do you think of my wish list? Stayed tuned as I suspect we might be using this sumptuous wallpaper elsewhere around the house. And why wallpaper rather than paint? It is sooo easy to put up wallpaper, especially this one where we don’t have to pattern match that we can decorate quickly and have a stylish look immediately. Also the wallpaper reflects the light around much better than paint could. So why not yourself embrace National Wallpaper Week and jazz up one of your rooms?
