Cleaning the London Eye...

The first thing I do when I’ve dropped the kids off at school is to do a whip round of the house. Cleaning the kitchen, hoovering and bathroom etc, I probably spend an hour on it every day and probably a couple more at the weekends now its autumn doing a sort out and washing windows etc.

Wonder if this would clean the dishes quicker?
Karcher asked me how long it takes to clean my house? Which all reminds of the joke that as soon as the firth of forth is finishing being cleaned at one end they are restarting at the other! But if we’re just talking dusting and hoovering its about 2 hours so just imagine how long it might take to clean something bigger. Yup even bigger than that! How about as big as the London Eye? Or even the Colonnades at the Vatican? Did you know Karcher knows just how long it takes to clean all of those. As cleaning specialists they actively support the preservation of historical monuments and buildings and have done for the last 30 years. In fact they currently have a quiz on their site to test your knowledge and see if you can locate the country’s some of the world’s most famous monuments lie in. Check it out here. I scored a hopeless 850 points. Let me know how you did!

They also asked me how long I thought it might take to clean the London Eye. Hmm I originally thought maybe 3 or 4 days. After all how dirty can it really be! It’s a giant Ferris wheel 135m’s tall! So maybe a couple more days? How long do you think? In fact I read on Karchers site that it actually took them 3 weeks working at night! 3 weeks! Imagining have to do that at home! They cleaned it over by hand with scouring brushes before spraying it off. That’s a cleaning job I hope never to face! I think I might not grumble so much now about how long it takes me to clean up the boys mess!
