Hamper time!
Hampers!
Where would we be without them? If like me you have family flung all over the
world (every continent except perhaps Antartica) they are invaluable! Send a
little of home across the world or cheer up a relative with Christmas in a box.
We’ve been sent a little of Christmas to review from tescos gifts so here are
my thoughts.
A very
delightful wicker tray arrived (well boxed I have to say) with some attractive goodies
inside. I have designs on the wicker tray already – pretty and most definitely reusable!
Two half bottles of wine, red & white, from South Africa went down very
well. I was rather impressed with the wine because so often you get a cheap one
in hampers but these were both delightful and smooth. A lovely two inch
Christmas cake which was whisked away as soon as the hamper was open but I’m
assured was very good. I would have liked as a gift for the cake to be round
not square but perhaps that’s a personal thing. I don’t eat Christmas cake so it’s
down to appearance for me. A scrummy Christmas pudding was tucked in as well
which was incredibly tasty but I’d have liked for the price for it to be a two
person pudding. The cashews and shortbread were lovely to include. Just perfect
for sitting on the sofa with a glass of wine and watching a Christmas afternoon
film by the fire. And of course the essential chocolates! Being a chocolate connoisseur
I did like these!
In fact
the whole hampers products were of a lovely quality! The only downside I think
is probably my appetite in that I would have liked the cake and pudding to be
slightly bigger however there is such a huge range I think you could easily
find one to suit in your price range. They range from a huge hamper of treats
at £25 through to cover cheese and crackers and of course the luxury end of the
budget too. Tescos seem to have used their very best products to create thesehampers. Personally I would be more than happy to receive another one and I
already have gone on and ordered for some of my relatives this year.
