London Festival Opera - “A Night at the Opera”
London Festival Opera returns to GLive with a with a brand new production, A Night at the Opera, accompanied by a select chamber ensemble.
A Night at the Opera features highlights from Mozart’s The Magic Flute in costume, followed by celebrated arias and ensembles with a Christmas twist from the great works of Rossini, Verdi, Bizet, Puccini, Offenbach and Gilbert & Sullivan.The Magic Flute was Mozart’s final opera and features some of his most enchanting characters and music and has an almost pantomime plot. Join London Festival Opera for an evening of great music, superb singing, drama and humour, sumptuous costumes with a performance for opera connoisseurs and newcomers alike.

Deacon Blue
With 6 million album sales, 12 UK Top 40 singles and 2 number 1 albums, soulful Scottish pop rock band Deacon Blue visit G Live as they embark on their biggest tour in over a decade. Formed in 1985, they were one of the most successful UK bands of the late 1980’s and 1990’s. Their debut album Raintown, has to date sold around a million copies and recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. This is an opportunity to see the band perform their all time classics such as Real Gone Kid, Dignity, Chocolate Girl, and also a selection from their new repertoire which includes three A listed Radio 2 singles for 2012 from their new album ‘The Hipsters’.

BBC Concert Orchestra
Step into the BBC Concert Orchestra’s winter wonderland as they make first visit to G Live with a sparkling concert of Christmas classics under the direction of Conductor Laureate, Barry Wordsworth.
If you’ve never seen them live, the chances are you’ve heard them. The BBC Concert Orchestra is the house orchestra for BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night Is Music Night, and gives regular broadcasts on BBC Radio 3. Soundtracks for BBC TV include Africa and film scores include Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. In 2012 the orchestra celebrated their 60th anniversary, as well as performing at The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert.

The Waterboys
To celebrate both the 25th anniversary of their classic album Fisherman's Blues, and the 14th October 2013 release of EMI’s 7 CD set Fisherman's Box. The Waterboys will tour Britain and Ireland in December with a special line-up reuniting Mike Scott and Steve Wickham with Fisherman’s Blues band members Anto Thistlethwaite and  Trevor Hutchinson for the first time since 1990. The four will be joined by current Waterboys drummer Ralph Salmins. The tour will return the band to scenes of old magic.
