What Am I Reading?

September - Always suggests to me the cooler crisper evenings, the evenings starting to draw in and time curled up in front of the fire with some good books. So heres my selection for this months what am I reading. Do let me know yours!

Its been a long time coming but at long last I have my hands on The Little Paris Kitchen. If you ever saw the show you saw Rachel Khoo making the most amazing meals in a room which had no kitchen work surface and was smaller than the average cupboard. Every single recipe has looked divine so keep an eye out for a long review!

"A mysterious errand; a promise made to a dying friend; an unexpected proposal; a secret reaching back a lifetime..." Doesnt that just draw you in? After Christies wonderful murder abroad could anything be as good as? Well according to an awful lot of customers in store it is so I had to whip it off the shelf and try it out myself! Mmm luxury, mystery, romance, what more could you ask?

John Grisham drew me into his readership after the stunning Pelican Brief which I personally still regard as one of his best works. I occasionally find his novels to be slightly repetitive and held off for a while but I've seen loads of good reviews since this has been published. Exceptionally good though at what he does I couldnt by pass it and ignore all the hype!

In all fairness any book about crime and Cornwall is going to be picked up by me. However I've read Carola's other mysteries book (Daisy Dalrymple) and her take on cosy crime is perfect for snuggling up with in a cold winter evening. I have read this before but its there sitting on my shelf waiting for a cool dark evening to be enjoyed again.
Arthur Ransome! Where to start! I adored his writings of the tails of the Swallows & Amazons from a young age and even now I read this with relish and warmth. Who couldnt? Just look at the picture above? He had an outstanding way of making the normal exciting and page turning. No more so than this wonderful adventure where they finally get to meet a real pirate in the China Seas! This is on my eldest book shelf to read this month! I might have to sneak it out to read ahead!
Just fabulous for the younger mind!

The backyard blacksmith! I've wanted to try my hand at blacksmithing for a fair while now as I know my dad has. My parents are hoping to move house soon and my dad and are already eyeing up places we could have a back garden forge in.So what else could be the perfect book? Fabulous reviews and apparently simple step by steps! Keep an eye out for how to's on the site!
