These boots were made for walking...
Pretty colours! |
When Hi-Tec springs to mind the immediate reaction is one of
squash shoes, however, they have come on a long way since then. As you know we’ve
just moved to the South Downs and there’s so much countryside to explore I was
rather relieved when I was offered a chance to review their women’s walkingboots. I choose their Arkansas waterproofs for dryness. While being waterproof
they have a special lining to keep your feet dry too meaning you can tackle
longer walks without the rubbing. Also with our weather waterproof boots are a
huge bonus!
I took them camping to Devon with me to give them a proper
test drive and was impressed. They managed the damp grasses fine and gripped even
on the wet slippery slate while rock pooling. Baring in mind they are a lot
less expensive than their counter parts I didn’t expect them to grip so well. I
did get a little rubbing round the ankles but I think that was more down to my
lacing up as by the end of the week I didn’t seem to have any. They are cut
down at the back of the ankles too which greatly cuts down the irritation which
can
occur!
Still going strong after a day at the beach! |
Being incredibly light too meant I could wear them all day.
On the beach in the morning and round National Trusts in the afternoon without
any achey legs or sweaty feet. The boys rather liked the design too. A peachy
orange and brown is feminine without the need for pink (and the mud blends in!)
which scores big points in this house.
