Brantano Shoes - Fitting Review

We were recently asked to review our local Brantano store. I haven’t actually visited one before and we had it all planned to visit the day before the schools start. We pictured the store being swamped and not being able to get in but oh my goodness! It really was lovely! We visited out local branch in Worthing. The first thing which struck us – other than the calm in the store- was the layout! Rather than lots of shoes and wondering whether they had them in the boys size the store was laid out by sizes and the shoes which were available were already there.

I was so impressed by Brantano. Their assistants throughout the store are all trained for shoe fitting and we were immediately whisked over to have the boys feet measured. They were then given a card with their sizes on and rushed off to hunt down their shoes.

Our fitting assistant came to check the boys shoes fitted when they were tried on and she was great with them both. Especially our youngest who is incredibly shy! He fell in love immediately with a pair of Star Wars trainers – thankfully his school shoes still fit from last year and our assistant checked them all round and made him walk up and down. Once he was sorted she managed to show the eldest some amazing school shoes and knew exactly how to grab his attention.

Needless to say he fell in love with some amazing Clarks (Brantano have so many brands!) Jurassic World school shoes. When she checked his feet however although the length and width were ok is feet slipped. Immediately his face fell but they saved the day but pointing out that some insoles inside would solve that problem and immediately there was a difference.

When we went up to the till we were asked if we wanted the shoes protected. Expecting sprays and creams I said yes knowing that the eldest is ridiculously hard on the shoe. We were blown away by their Imbox shoe protection. It’s a special box you place the shoes inside and in less than a minute they are protected by industrial shoe protection making them waterproof, scuff proof etc and leaves your shoe breathable too. The fabulous part about this is that you don’t actually have to buy the shoes at Brantano. You can take down any pair of shoes and have this done! I think this is amazing and can’t wait to take down my winter boots!

The boys love their shoes and after a month wearing them through mud, puddles and up and down trees they still look like new and no blisters even from day one. We will back very soon.
