Qixels Castle Attack Playset

 We have some lovely friends who play regularly with the aqua beads toys and the boys have often eyed them up but decided that it was primarily a girls toys due to the sheets and colours. They were rather excited by the offer to review therefore Qixels Kingdom Attack Playset.

Like many of these around the basic are simple. Make your creations up either with your imagination or the handy cards inside and fuse your work together with a spritz of water. Qixels have a large range of these toys and the Castle Attack is their latest. The main product is a castle that can be made in a variety of different ways and the cubes are there to make your characters.

The kit includes handy peg boards with easy picture instructions which slip underneath to easily follow and get your design perfect. The colours are superb in mixtures of greens, greys and oranges. In fact very very minecraft like which appealed greatly to my two!

I loved how focused the boys were with this activity and its great there’s a crafting activity that it more angled to boys than girls. Saying that though are friends who are girls from 4-9yrs absolutely loved it and couldn’t wait to get stuck in either!

Once you’ve filled out your peg board to your desired design a spray of water is supposed to set them and 30 minutes later your characters is ready. It took more than that though to get ours to stick together and while it says to spray the back as well for added strength we did find it difficult to get out the peg board to do this without breaking.

The boys have really loved playing with the set and so have many of our friends who came around too. It provides a good hour of quite play and at £29.99 there is a fair amount in the pack and in the play value it offers.
