Mr Frosty Returns!

If you were a child in the 80’s it’s fairly certain that for at least one birthday or Christmas you had a certain toy on the list – Mr Frosty. Well at long last you can now get your own, or even one for your kids! Mr Frosty the classic crunchy ice maker is back.

Just in time for the heatwave they claimed is going to descend on us for the next 6 months. A much improved toy it is the perfect kid’s toy for making frozen treats. Mr Frosty comes with everything you need to make your own crunchy ice desserts, fruity juice lollies and even ice shapes to pop in your drinks!  And of course the very much loved penguin ready to squeeze your favourite topping on your ice.

The first thing I noticed was that Mr Frosty no longer had sugary syrups in side. No flavours are included in the box but you can use fruit juice or yoghurt to make the lollies and whatever you like as the drizzle sauce from the penguin.

We instantly made some fruit ice cubes and ice cube lollies while we wait for the ice cubes to freeze for the main event! Do note that to make Mr Frosty work best and for his handle to be easier to turn its best to leave the ice cubes out of the freeze a little beforehand. They recommend 30 minutes which had pretty much melted ours so just leave them to whatever suits you all best.

The way to make him work though is very easy and the boys managed it without my help. Simply remove Mr Frostys hat and place some frozen shapes inside. Replace his hat and while pushing down turn the handle. Pull out the tray and away you go!

The only downside we had to this really was the cleaning. We found the penguin almost impossible to get clean and he’s currently in a long soak. We also found that ice cubes made of fruit juice were the best all round!

We really like Mr Frosty and he’s perfect for the start of summer. He’s priced at £19.99 and why not find out more about Flair’s range of creative products for children here http://www.coolcreateclub.co.uk you can purchase Mr Frosty at Smyths and The Entertainer
