Harry Potter Dobble - Blogger Board Game Review

Dobble tins have hit the shops every where! From Supermarkets to toy shops they are on the shelves and by far a great way to spend your money. But what are they? Well to sum it up its an easy to get to grips with matching game.

We’re part of the blogger board game club and are game this month is the Asmodee Harry Potter Dobble game. Dobble games only came on to my radar earlier this year when we were at a restaurant with friends and the kids started to get bored. Out of her handbag she whipped this tin and within in seconds the kids of all ages were happily playing and completely engrossed until the food arrived! Now anything that can gain attention like that across 3yr olds to 13yr olds is worth investigating!

Dobbles are a handheld tin full of different cards and a fab booklet which has the instructions to 5 different games you can play with the cards. The main one is a matching game. Every single card in your pack is different and regardless of which game you’re playing the aim is to match a symbol on your card with the one on the table. The big thing about this game is that every card has one and only one matching picture no matter which card you pull!

The kids have sat for ages playing this as they couldn’t quite believe that but having gone through the pack and spending hours on the different game, they’ve decided to admit its true! However easy though this may seem, its made quite tricky but the fact that the symbols are scattered around in different sizes and different directions.

The games are for up to 8 people and as I said earlier there are a fab variety of different games to play, some work better in a larger group and some are perfect just for two to get into. I personally love the fact that it can pop into my handbag or even my coat pocket, it doesn’t need to be spread out everywhere and any age can join in. We’ve been at various appointments recently and these have been a godsend with waiting times and great for drawing other kids in to play and chat with!

These are a superb game to have, I love the storage tin and you can pick them up every where for £14.99 or under. Places like Amazon currently have them on special offer here. Perfect for all ages – from the very young to the very old and quite frankly almost essential!
