Swimwear for your 2017 Summer Holidays
With
the kid´s summer holidays just around the corner, many of us are preparing for
our annual family break. We are busy shopping for clothes for everyone,
including swimwear for ourselves. As you can see here, there are some really interesting swimming costumes and bikinis
available in the shops.
String
bikinis
For
those of you with the confidence to wear them, string bikinis are a great option.
However, they tend to only be available in smaller sizes. This is primarily
because this style of bikini is not a great option for curvier women. String
bikini bras have a tendency to slip out of place, which can lead to embarrassing
situations.
High
waisted bikinis
The
good news is that as each year passes more and more designers are including
high waisted bikinis in their ranges. These are an especially good option if
you feel a little self-conscious about your midriff. If you are going to be
running around after the kids or want to enjoy playing beach volleyball or
something similar they are one of the best choices. This style of bikini stays
in place even if you are very active and offers a good level of support. Quite a
few retailers have started to sell their bikinis as separates, which makes it
easy to put together the look you really want.
90s
inspired one-pieces
Every
year, swimwear designers take their inspiration from a different fashion era.
For 2017, it is the 90s, which means that high legged one-pieces are once again
widely available. These costumes are extremely flattering. They look especially
good on women who have long legs.
Cut-out
swimming costume
Another
trend that is partly inspired by the 90s is cut-out one-pieces. They look
interesting, although you need to bear in mind that you are going to end up
with an unusual tan if you decide to wear one.
A
varied colour palette
For
2017, no one colour dominates. There are a few plain one-pieces and bikinis out
there, but brightly coloured swimming costumes that feature bold patterns are
set to be more popular.
Cover-ups
Most
of us like to take something light with us to slip on over our swimwear for
when it gets too hot or cool on the beach. For many years, sarongs have been
the most popular option. This year, it is cover ups. These lightweight dresses
come in a range of styles and lengths, although the longer ones seem to be more
widely available. Provided you choose wisely you could potentially wear your cover-up
in the evening or at other points during your holiday.
To
complete your look why not treat yourself to a new pair of sunglasses and a
nice hat. For 2017, large floppy hats are a hot trend. These look especially
good when paired with a 90s style swimsuit. All you need to do is to add in a
pair of oversized sunglasses to complete your look.
Beach
bags
Big
beach totes are back in vogue, so you will not have any problem fitting
everything into your bag. Thispage gives you a good idea of what is available.
