I NEED a Bridge Camera!
Recently we went out for the day and I full intended to do
some photography shoots for this site and some articles I’m working on at the
moment. The only problem was the sheer weight of my camera and lenses. I
jealously watched my husband slip his bridge camera into his bag and out again
without fussy over lens and caps. I ended up getting some great high detail
shots but so often I just want to take a camera along on a family day out which
is better than my phone or the standard point and shoot without the fuss my
DSLR is. A bridge camera would be perfect for this.
Someone asked me the other day what a bridge camera was so
in case you’re unsure it’s a camera between a DSLR and a pocket camera. They tend
to be the same in size and weight as the smaller DSLR’s. They also have great
retractable lens which help make them more compact. Panasonic offer an amazing
super wide-angle bridge
camera which offers an amazing 60x optical zoom. This our performs the
cheaper DSLR’s on the market too. These are miles better than my pocket camera
and yet still as portable. I think I’m going to have to upgrade my pocket
camera to one of these so I can take them out and about with me and be a little
freer in my photography.
I’m not expecting it to outperform my DSLR but more the
fact that for being out and about it’s a cheaper option (I get very precious
with my camera) and also it would be flexible. They have a full range of focal
lengths without the need to keep changing lenses. They are such a great option
for a step up from a point and shoot without the technicality of the DSLR. How
about you? Do you have different cameras for different things? One of these is definitely
going on my birthday list!
