Brownsea Island & CountryKids

This weekend we visited the very beautiful island of Brownsea Island. With two days a week at least spent running Cubs or helping out with Beavers we’re all pretty big fans of Baden Powell and it was fabulous to see the home of his original camp.

The whole island is filled with nature and the boys adored it from the start where we watched the underwater cameras to spot lots of fishs to trying hunt down for photos the red squirrels who have made the island their home.

As always with the National Trust they have made the island great fun for the children. From a tree climbing trail to an amazing nature playground the boys had fun the whole way round the island! Its definitely worth a visit or two!

  1. We are huge scout fans here too, how lovely to visit the island home of Robert Baden Powell. Well done the National Trust for making it look just like an adventure scouts camp with trees to climb and a fun playground. Looks like your two had a lovely day. Thank you for sharing with me on Country Kids.
