Multipurpose Guest Room

On our quest to make our house the “forever” home we have a
room that’s not quite anything. It’s a general storage, spare, study, crash pad
ground and it’s about time we sorted it out. The rooms a decent size but we
want a lot from it! I want to ensure guests can stay over and if its someone
like my parents ensure there’s a bed for them both rather than one on the
floor! My husband wants and needs a study. So I’ve been hunting about on
Pinterest and have seen a million and one ideas that I would love to try out. I
don’t think I would want a 1960’s style drop out of the wall bed – I have
vision of hide & seek going a tad wrong or lasting forever! I think the
king size bed and ensuite idea will have to go if we have a workable desk
inside it but I’ve just seen that you can get small double beds which might be the solution. If guests are staying they won’t
be here long (how many times can you stand to find lego in the bed?) so a small
double would be perfect and would also leave room for the other half to spread
himself out and have a desk he can lock up when needed! I quite like the
picture idea to the left here, what about you guys? I might have to change the
colours to a creamy yellow for a sunshiney look(last owners had dark purple
& red) Any suggestions before I start are most welcome!
I suppose the next idea is how I can also incorporate a
mini library inside the room with a coffee machine without the kids or anyone
finding out!
