The Sea..

"I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying"

For the past 18 months I've had a Saturday job which meant our weekends and family time became severely limited. However at Christmas this year we decided enough was enough I quit we reclaimed our weekends. Of course at the same time so did the weather! We live about 20 minutes from the Sea now and right by a tidal river. The combination of the rain on the Brooks local to us and the river has meant we haven't been able to appreciate much of the Saturdays however today the sun shone gloriously and the waters dropped so the call of the Sea was at its greatest and off we headed!

I adore the Sea and no more than when its winter and no one else seems to want to visit! Bundle the kids up, fill the flasks with hot chocolate and head out......

  1. Here's to more family time and great outdoor fun at the weekends! As you say you tend to have the beach to yourselves in this weather and armed with a flask of hot chocolate what's not to like. It looks like they had a great time exploring and having fun, thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.

  2. A wonderful trip to the sea. I hope you have many more fun filled family weekends. Winter definitely makes everything a lot more quieter and nicer to visit rather ironically.
